Reduce Stress and Anxiety

 

The basic idea generally associated with why people meditate is that during our day we are constantly subject to sensory input and our minds are always active in the process of thinking. We read the newspaper, study books, write reports, solve problems etc. Typically as we do this normal activity we engage in constant mental stress sort of an inner " The Drama of Me ".

Meditation allows all this activity to settle down and often results in mind becoming more peaceful, calm and focus.   The reason for this stress is that we become slaves of endless desires. At the same time we all have expectations. Whenever expectations are not fulfilled it causes frustration, depression and agony. If you go to your doctor for stress related problems, he or she will likely to tell you that best treatment for stress is meditation. In essence, meditation allows the awareness to become rejuvenated.

 

To attain inner peace, We should love God unconditionally like a honest lover who loves his/her beloved without any fear and expectation of reward. Meditation does not mean complete renunciation of our desires. It means that while enjoying this beautiful world, We must not become slave to our desires. We should maintain a balance in our lives and enjoy a happy and a relaxed life. In short, Be what your are and don't try to be what you are not.
