Don't Apologize For Your Success PDF Print E-mail

"Money is not important, I don't care about money, money doesn't matter."

Have you ever noticed that the people who go around saying thing. like I don't care about money or money is not important, are generally people who are broke, or near broke?  It's usually the people whose financial lives are not working that will deny the importance of money.  Then, there are those who have some twisted idea that poverty is somehow holy.  I know.  There was a time when I felt that way.  It's self-depreciating and self-defeating.

The truth is that poverty has never brought out the best in anyone, except perhaps certain holy men who choose this as a way of life. All you need to do is visit a poor part of town.  What do you see? Are the people concerned with helping each other or are there poor conditions and a high crime rate?  Probably the latter.  I have never seen a case where poverty has brought out the best in anyone.  How could it?  If you are concerned with your very survival, how can you be concerned with your fellow human beings?  Don't confuse poverty with spirituality.

If you talk to successful people, ones whose lives are working in all areas, money included, you will hear a different story.  Please don't misunderstand.  I'm  not suggesting that you should worship money or that it is of supreme importance.  However, it has its place.  Someone once said, "I've been rich and I've been poor and I prefer rich."  Money certainly has its place in our world.  It is a tool, a means to an end.  Like fire, it can be used to build or to destroy.  There are many, many people who are doing a lot of good in this world because they have the financial ability to do it. Throughout history, philanthropists have given to society because they were able to do so.

Don't apologize for your success.  You deserve it and you are earning it.  You see, we can have all the wealth and abundance we want if we are willing to do something or it.
