Our mind is a “thought factory.” It’s a busy
factory, producing countless thoughts in one day. Scientists tried to create
the human mind, it required a space equal to the empire state building, and
total estimated investment was 100 million US dollar. Total electricity
required for running this mind was equal to power required by a town. We
received this big factory known as human mind “free of cost” from existence.
100 Million $ factory, You and me are the owner, the king, CEO – and we
never bothered to visit our own empire.
Then who is running our empire?
Production in our thought factory is under the charge of two managers, one
of whom I call Mr. Positive and the other Mr. Negative. Mr. Positive is in
charge of manufacturing positive thoughts. He specializes in producing
reasons how you can, how you’re qualified, how you will. Mr. Negative
specializes in reasons why you can’t, why circumstances are not allowing you
to do it, why you are not qualified and why you will not do it.
Both Mr. Positive and Mr. Negative are obedient. They snap to attention
immediately. All we need do to signal either foreman is to give the
slightest mental beck-and-call. If the signal is positive, Mr. Positive will
step forward and go to work. Likewise, a negative signal brings Mr. Negative
forward.
Now the more work we give either of these two
managers, the stronger he becomes. If Mr. Negative is given more work to do,
he adds personnel and takes-up more space in our mind. Eventually, he will
take over the entire thought-manufacturing division; virtually all thought
will be of negative nature.
My research revealed some interesting facts: -
Several years ago, the National Science
Foundation put out some very interesting statistics. We think a thousand
thoughts per hour. When we write, we think twenty-five hundred thoughts in
an hour and a half. The average person thinks about twelve thousand thoughts
per day. A deeper thinker, according to this report, puts forth fifty
thousand thoughts daily.
Majority of them are either negative,
repeated or irrelevant thoughts. Mr. Negative normally rules the inside
world.
Mr. Negative is being given more work to do – he becomes more powerful and
makes life more miserable.
Most of us have been doing the same unknowingly.
Our factory is a case of badly managed organization.

The only wise thing to do it fire Mr. Negative. We don’t need him. We don’t
want him around telling us that we can’t, we are not up to it, we’ll fail,
and so on. Mr. negative won’t help us get where we want to go, so boot him
out.
Use Mr. Positive 100 per cent of the time. When any thought enters your
mind, ask Mr. Positive to go to work for you. He’ll show you how you can
succeed.
Having said that, I know that firing Mr.
Negative is a wishful thinking. Mr. Positive is weak at the moment. We have
to learn the art of internal mind management (MM) first and then gradually
take control.
Acknowledging the presence of Mr. Positive
and Mr. Negative, and building a day-to-day working relationship with
him/her is one of the absolute keys to creating a truly successful life -
however you define
The bottom line
The Thought is the fountain head of success
